On the 23rd January 2025, Mrs Nekesa Eunice withdrew 33 million for her daily agent banking business. She took a motorcycle to her business. A few minutes from the bank, she was intercepted by 3 boda bodas, each carrying 3 people. Ten (10) robbers on motorcycles attacked her in Kansanga, stealing UGX 33 million in cash. The incident was reported to Kabalagala police, and the Flying Squad, in collaboration with CID, began its work and arrested Oketcho Samuel, Lubega Ashraf, and Baraza Ben using CCTV cameras. The robbers were moving on motorcycles, UGF 557 T, UGJ 820A, and UGH 447S. The 3 that were arrested confessed and named 7 others, including Kayoga Mohammed, Turinawe Ramadthan, Ssentongo Marvin, Ssekadiba Sharif ‘seeka’, and Joram. After forensic analysis of Lubega Ashraf’s phone, police discovered that he had received a text message from a lady who was a bank teller in one of the banks in Kabalagala. Police followed up and arrested the teller from the bank. The Motorcycles that had also been used in various deadly theft operations were impounded. On the 14th March 2025, crime intelligence, in collaboration with the flying squad, dismantled the whole gang, arresting the other members that had evaded arrest.
